We met this client under the worst of circumstances: Her server’s hard drives had crashed; her backup tapes were bad; and, thanks to one corrupted disk, her third-tier backup could not complete the restore of her system. More than 10 years’ worth of electronic data stood to be lost, although fortunately our client had paper backups of her patient data.
With her office "down," our client faced costs of approximately $250,000+ -- the cost of rebuilding her server and recapturing her data, plus the cost of potential revenue loss, as her practice had no way to accept and manage new patients. Going forward, she also needed better disaster recovery planning around the business software her practice used every day. |

Kotori technicians rolled up their sleeves for a three-phase solution: |

- We tapped a trusted partner to rebuild her hard drives. After reinstalling her software, we analyzed backup tapes to find one that was saved three months before the server crashed and restored that data.
- We reinstalled the three-months-prior data to new hard drives and input new data to bring the information up to date. We then set up a redundant hard drive to protect data integrity and moved the operating system to separate hard drive to reduce issues with data corruption or viral attack.
- Finally, we implemented a new dual backup solution, with redundant data drives.

We were able to save the client more than $200,000 in data recovery and business downtime costs. Most importantly, we gave the client the tools she needed to focus on her business with complete peace of mind.
